This article explains how students can cancel a course registration request before it is approved by the Teaching Institution.
Cancellation Eligibility
You can only cancel a request if it is still in Requested status and has not yet been approved by the Teaching Institution (TI).
Note: If the course has already started (past the Start Date), you cannot cancel the request yourself. Instead, you must contact your Home Institution (HI) Enrolling Student Contact (ESC) to request a Drop or Withdrawal. See "How Do I Request to Drop or Withdraw From a Course?" for details.
Steps to Cancel a Request
Follow these steps within the Acadeum Student App:
Log in to the Student App and navigate to the Course Enrollments area
Locate the course card for the request you wish to cancel and click See Details
Click Cancel Request
Click Confirm to finalize the cancellation
Note: Once confirmed, the request is immediately removed from the dashboard of both your Home Institution and the Teaching Institution.
What to Do if You Can't Cancel
If you do not see the Cancel Request button, it is likely due to one of the following reasons:
The Request was Approved: The Teaching Institution has already accepted your enrollment. You must now follow your institution's formal Drop process. (See "How Do I Request to Drop or Withdraw From a Course?" for details.)
The Course has Started: Once a course session begins, the self-service cancellation option is disabled
Status Change: If the status shows Pending, Enrolled, or Denied, the request can no longer be "cancelled" via this method
Need Help? If you need to remove a course after the cancellation window has passed, contact your Home Institution’s Acadeum representative. Find your institution’s contact information here.
