This article explains how to request a Drop or Withdrawal from a course after you have been officially enrolled.
Key Requirements:
Approval Required: Submitting a request in the Student App notifies your Home Institution (HI) admin. The drop or withdrawal is not official until they approve it and enter it in Acadeum Course Share (ACS).
Deadlines Matter: Deadlines for dropping or withdrawing are determined by the Teaching Institution’s (TI) academic calendar.
Financial & Academic Impact: Drops and withdrawals can affect your financial aid and transcript. We recommend contacting your advisor before submitting a request.

Drop vs. Withdrawal: What's the Difference?
The option available to you depends on the dates set by the Teaching Institution:
Drop: Available if the course is still within the Add/Drop period. A dropped course typically does not appear on your transcript.
Withdrawal: Available after the Add/Drop period has passed. A withdrawal usually results in a "W" on your transcript.
Note: If your course has not yet been approved and is still in Requested status, please do not use this process. See "How Do I Cancel a Registration Request?" for instructions.
How Do I Request a Drop?
You can submit a drop request if the course is in Enrolled or Active status and the Drop Date has not passed. Please confirm with your Home Institution that you've been dropped in ACS and in the Home Institution's records. To locate your institution’s contact information click here for details.
